About this template

The business timeline template acts as a guide to map your company’s history. Starting from the founding year, you can highlight critical milestones horizontally. Each section can include the year followed by a brief description of achievements.

For example, the template shows how the company was established in 2016 as a limited liability company (LLC). Then, it shows how the company had a turnover in 2017 when it reached 2 million dollars, up to when its shares were listed on the NY stock exchange.

The timeline also shows how the company was listed in the Exchange of London (2019) and other achievements up to 2020.

Benefits of the business timeline template

A business timeline is a great way to showcase your company’s journey in a clear and easy-to-understand format. Imagine it as a picture book of your business’s achievement. You can show how your company has grown and evolved by laying out essential events chronologically.

This can be impressive to potential investors, clients, or even employees. It demonstrates stability and a track record of success. Plus, a timeline can be a great internal tool to keep your team motivated and remind everyone of the company’s goals.

You can even use the timeline to attract people for recruitment. When a company looks like it has a solid history, people are more inclined to apply for jobs in the same. Job stability is an essential aspect for job seekers, too.

Frequently asked questions

  • Aside from recording your company’s history, you can also add time frames for future achievements or goals you want. Your time frame represents how far you want your company to go into the future. However, plan out pragmatically – that’s why there is a time frame.
  • A business objective timeline differs from the business timeline presented in this template. A business timeline aims to align short-term actions with long-term objectives within specific dates. This helps you and your team to be on the same track regarding business objectives.
