Starting new projects can be daunting. This is a common problem among many project managers, and that’s why they utilize different diagrams or tools to help make the project’s timeline more digestible. It helps boost the morale of a team as well.

One example of such a tool is the roadmap diagram. As can be gleaned from its name, this diagram uses a “road” to visualize the timeline of a particular project or endeavor. Then, you can input the different parts of your project across its path. Visualizing project milestones and the requisite tasks is intuitive and familiar.

As you can see in the project deployment roadmap above, different areas or parts of the road signify a stage in the project. For instance, area 01 pertains to “Discovery and Plan,” and that’s where the road starts. Then, it moves on to area 02, “Design”.

You can add more symbols or logos across the road’s “sidewalks” to make this template more informative, which helps provide information at a glance.
