Outlander: Blood of My Blood Family Tree

Behind every great story is an even greater beginning. Blood of My Blood takes us to the heart of the Scottish Highlands, where the MacKenzie and Fraser families built their legacies. It’s a tale of loyalty, love, and the power of blood to unite, or divide.

This isn’t just a chart of names, it’s a living history. We’ll walk through each branch of the family tree, uncovering the people who shaped generations. Because to know the future, you must first understand the past

MacKenzie Clan

Jacob MacKenzie

Jacob MacKenzie is the man you don’t mess with. Fierce. Ruthless. Loyal, but only to those he trusts. Known as “Red Jacob,” he rules Clan MacKenzie with an iron fist. His strength is legendary across the Highlands. His sudden death leaves a vacuum no one can fill.

Chaos erupts as his children scramble for power. His favorite, Ellen, carries his hidden legacy. Colum and Dougal clash under his shadow. Every decision he made left a mark. It shapes the clan’s future. Red Jacob isn’t just a warrior. He’s the storm before the calm.

Anne MacKenzie

Anne MacKenzie is the quiet force keeping the MacKenzies intact. Gentle? Yes. Wise? Absolutely. But underestimate her, and you’ll regret it. She grounds the family when egos clash. She calms things when tempers flare.

Raising Ellen, Colum, Dougal, Janet, and Jocasta is no small feat. She channels their anger. She nurtures their talents. She navigates treacherous waters. Without Anne, the clan would crumble. Quiet power, after all, is the strongest kind.

Janet MacKenzie

Janet is one of the younger MacKenzie sisters. She is quiet but sharp. She always observes the clan’s politics and family drama. Though she rarely takes the spotlight, her opinions matter when the family faces tough decisions.

In Blood of My Blood, Janet appears mostly in the background at key family events. She honors her father’s memory and her siblings. Her subtle influence on clan affairs shows that even quieter members of a family can leave a mark.

Jocasta MacKenzie

Jocasta is one of Ellen’s sisters. She is dutiful, smart, and proud of her family’s legacy. Jocasta married for the benefit of her family. She always keeps the clan’s interests in mind. But she dreams of carving out her own identity. She wants to step out from her siblings’ shadows.

A chance encounter at the Great Gathering sparks something unexpected. Jocasta’s clever mind and gentle heart often put her at the center of family strategies. Yet she longs for a life that feels truly her own.

Colum MacKenzie

Colum MacKenzie is the eldest son of Red Jacob. He is the natural heir to lead the clan. Life hasn’t been kind. He struggles with a disease that leaves him with a limp. Despite this, he’s clever and strategic. He prefers using his mind over fighting with his fists.

Colum values diplomacy and careful planning. This frustrates his younger brother Dougal, who acts first and thinks later. As he tries to keep the clan united, Colum constantly balances family loyalty, ambition, and his father’s legacy.

Dougal MacKenzie

Dougal MacKenzie is Red Jacob’s younger son. He is the opposite of his older brother, Colum. Impulsive and bold, he often acts before thinking. This can stir trouble for the clan. His fiery nature makes him a fierce fighter. But it also lands him in hot water more than once.

Dougal is passionate and loyal, though sometimes reckless. He struggles with Colum’s cautious ways. He feels the weight of the family legacy. When love and honor collide, Dougal’s choices can change the clan’s fate in ways he never expected.

Ellen MacKenzie

Ellen MacKenzie is sharp and headstrong. She is not afraid to speak her mind. As the favorite daughter of Red Jacob, she was promised she would marry only for love. But her brothers, Colum and Dougal, have other plans. They see her as a pawn in their battle to lead the clan.

Her beauty and wit make her stand out. But they also put her in danger. Everything gets complicated when she falls for Brian Fraser. He is the son of her family’s enemy. Love and duty clash. Ellen must navigate both carefully.

Clan Fraser

Simon Fraser

Simon Fraser is the laird of Clan Fraser, also known as Lord Lovat. He is arrogant, strict, and demanding. Simon rules his household with an iron fist. He often clashes with his staff and the MacKenzies.

Despite his harshness, he acknowledges Brian as his heir. Even though Brian is illegitimate. Simon’s pride and stubbornness make him a formidable leader. His actions ripple through both clans, creating tension, grudges, and unexpected alliances. Power and pride are never easy to balance.

Davina Porter

Davina Porter is the head housekeeper at Castle Leathers. She manages the staff with precision. She navigates Lord Lovat’s temper and rules. Loyal and hardworking, she ensures the household runs smoothly.

Davina is also Brian’s mother, a fact she keeps private. Her life is shaped by secrets, survival, and quiet resilience. She teaches that strength doesn’t always roar. It often whispers in careful actions, watchful eyes, and unwavering dedication to those she loves.

Brian Fraser

Brian Fraser is the illegitimate son of Lord Lovat. Handsome and charming, he balances courage with caution. Brian grew up navigating his father’s schemes. This made him wise beyond his years. He protects those around him. He avoids unnecessary drama.

Love changes everything for Brian when he meets Ellen MacKenzie. Despite the danger, he risks everything to pursue her. Smart, loyal, and brave, Brian faces challenges with a clear mind and a strong heart. Even complicated beginnings don’t stop a man from finding his path.

Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser

Murtagh is Brian Fraser’s cousin and best friend. Loyal, witty, and fearless, he is always ready to back Brian in every venture. Murtagh often hides his true feelings behind humor. This includes his secret love for Ellen MacKenzie.

He joins Brian at the Great Gathering, playing his part without stepping on anyone’s toes. Murtagh’s mix of bravery and charm makes him unforgettable. He sticks by friends through danger, laughter, and heartbreak. He quietly leaves a mark wherever he goes.

Jamie Fraser

Jamie is a legend. Courageous. Loyal. Sometimes reckless, always passionate. From the Highlands to France, his life is battles, love, and tragedy. Beneath it all, his moral compass never wavers. You don’t forget a man like him.

His marriage to Claire defies time, politics, and danger. Together, they forge a future while facing ghosts of the past. Jamie’s story isn’t just heroism. It’s heart, honor, and sacrifice. Every choice leaves a mark. Every action reveals depth, fire, and unshakable love.

20th Century Beauchamp/Moriston

Henry Beauchamp

Henry Beauchamp is a thoughtful soldier on the World War I front. Stoic and brave, he always puts others before himself. Sometimes he clashes with authority. Henry’s intelligence and kindness make him a natural protector and supporter.

Through letters, he finds Julia Moriston. This forms a bond that changes his life. Later, he discovers time travel, adding adventure to his character. Henry’s dedication, courage, and love ripple across generations. Honor and heart can guide someone through even the most impossible circumstances.

Julia Moriston

Julia Moriston is an independent and determined woman. She works at a postal censorship office during World War I. She dreams of higher education and voting rights. Julia is practical yet full of hope. She reaches out to soldiers through letters to offer comfort.

She married Henry Beauchamp after the war. She raises Claire with care and love. Julia’s courage, intelligence, and warmth shape her family’s future. Even ordinary women can play extraordinary roles in history and hearts alike.

Claire Beauchamp Fraser

Claire is an unstoppable time traveler. Smart. Brave. Headstrong. Thrust into the 18th century, she doesn’t just survive. She thrives. Medicine, survival, love, danger, she handles it all with grit and wit. You didn’t expect a modern woman to change history. But Claire does.

Her love for Jamie anchors her. Independence defines her. Claire shapes two families, survives odds stacked against her, and keeps her heart intact. Claire Beauchamp Fraser is unforgettable.
